My daughter Valentina is 4 years and 8 months old and has beeen my “piano student” since she was 3. She just started taking online piano lessons at Yamaha music school since this August. Today, she performed at the Yamaha music school charity concert. This is Valentina’s first recital!

Because we were not aware of the charity concert until last Saturday, Valentina had less than a week to prepare. I think she did a good job… despite a few mistakes, I’m so proud of her!

The piece Valentina performed is my arrangement of Chopin’s Nocturne Op 9 No 2. (PS: Kudos to Valentina’s teacher Ms. Sammy for helping me with my arrangement).

To make the arrangement beginner-friendly, I changed the key from E♭ Major to C Major, changed the fancy chords to easy chords in root positions, and cut the piece shorter. Here is a recording of my play of the original piece in E♭ Major. I hope you enjoy my play… despite a few mistakes:
